BYO LLM key
BYO LLM key is short for bring your own large language model key. Instead of a product bundling AI usage into its own price and marking it up, the team supplies its own API key from an AI provider, and every AI call runs on that key. The usage bill comes from the provider directly, in the team's own account, visible at whatever rate that provider charges.
The alternative is a black box: a flat AI add-on fee that may or may not reflect what a team actually uses, with no way to see the real cost or switch providers without switching products. A brought key keeps the meter and the vendor relationship in the team's own hands.
In Glitch Team Zone, a team connects one LLM key and the whole org runs on it. The key is encrypted at rest, scoped to the org, and never appears in logs, error messages, or audit payloads. Every pill run and every AI search bar answer draws on that same key, and the daily digest and cost meter report what it's spending in plain numbers instead of leaving usage to guesswork.
